Hudson spent its early years as Nottingham West and took its present name in 1830, to stop being mixed up with the older town of Nottingham. Benson's Wild Animal Farm, the zoo and amusement park in Hudson Center, closed in the late 1980s and came back in 2010 as Benson Park, a town park that kept the Old Lady in the Shoe and the elephant barn. At Alvirne High School, students in the vocational program run a bank, a restaurant, a store and a dairy farm. Hudson is mostly a bedroom community, and in a town like that plenty of real businesses are run alongside a commute. The bookkeeping is the part that gets skipped. That is where I help.
