Your bookkeeper in Kingston

Kingston was chartered as Kingstown by King William III, which makes it one of the oldest towns in New Hampshire, and Josiah Bartlett, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, made his home here. The town has always run on small trades. West Kingston once made charcoal for the mill cities, and shoemakers worked out of one-room shops beside their houses. The owner-operator is still the backbone of the place, and owner-operators are who I work with: one person doing the work and the books, usually at night, usually behind.

The historic district around the Plains holds the Bartlett House, the Nichols Memorial Library, the Sanborn Seminary building and the Kingston Historical Museum in the town's first fire house. Kingston State Park sits on Great Pond, Rock Rimmon Hill rises on the Danville line, and Kingston Days fills the first weekend of August with a flea market and a car show. Students attend Sanborn Regional High School. Kingston is a little farther from Atkinson than its neighbors, which makes no difference at all once the books are in QuickBooks Online.

Where I work

How local and remote work runs

Distance stops mattering once your accounts are connected. I reconcile them online, match your deposits and send your report, and you reach me by phone or video when a question comes up. A small Kingston business gets the same bookkeeper and the same standard as one on my own street.

Kingston questions

Bookkeeping questions from Kingston

Do you serve businesses in Kingston, NH?

Yes. Kingston is part of the Rockingham County area I serve from Atkinson. The work happens online, in QuickBooks or in a spreadsheet that stays yours, so a Kingston owner-operator gets local help without needing to schedule around a drive.

I do my own books at night. Where do I start?

Start by telling me where the hours go. Often it is the same reconciliation, the same workaround and the same missing receipt every month. In a free consult I look at how you work and suggest the lightest fix, from a few shortcuts to handing the whole job to me.

Do I need to track mileage for my Kingston business?

If you drive to customers, yes. The IRS standard mileage rate changed in the middle of 2026: 72.5 cents per business mile from January 1 to June 30, 2026, and 76 cents per mile from July 1 to December 31, 2026. A log with dates keeps each trip at the right rate, and I set one up so every business mile is counted at tax time.

Is a Google Sheet really enough for a small business?

For many one-person businesses it is. A well-built sheet tracks income, expenses, invoices and mileage, and it costs nothing to run. When volume, helpers or several payment apps make it hard to trust, that is the signal to move to QuickBooks Online, and I can handle the move.
