Custom Google Sheets

Not every business is ready for accounting software, and that's okay. A Google Sheet built around your business.

The step before QuickBooks

A custom Google Sheet is a simple tracking system built for your business: income, expenses, invoices, mileage and the other numbers you need, without accounting software.

Not every business is ready for accounting software, and that's okay.

A new or very small business often needs something simpler than QuickBooks Online on day one. I design a Google Sheet around how you earn and spend, so tracking takes minutes a week, and when you outgrow it, the move to QuickBooks Online starts from records that are already organized.

How Custom Google Sheets runs

  1. Free consult

You tell me about your business, your accounts and what feels tangled. There is no charge and no commitment.

  2. Map what you track

You and I list how you get paid, what you spend on and whether invoices and mileage belong in the sheet.

  3. Build the sheet

I design the sheet with simple entry tabs and a summary that totals itself.

  4. Hand it over

You get a walk-through and a clear signal for when it is time to move to QuickBooks Online.

What your sheet can track

  • Income by client and by payment method
  • Expenses by category, ready for tax time
  • Invoices sent and paid
  • Business mileage with dates
  • A monthly summary that adds itself up

One thing you can do today

Start a simple log with four columns: date, who paid you, how they paid and how much. Fill it in every time money arrives, including Venmo and cash. That one habit is the backbone of every good set of books, sheet or software.

Custom Google Sheets: common questions

Book my free consult
Is a Google Sheet enough for my business?

For many new and very small businesses, yes. If you have a handful of clients, one business account and no staff, a well-built sheet covers what you need. You and I decide together in the free consult.

What can the sheet track?

Income, expenses, invoices, mileage and anything else your business needs to see. Mileage needs dates: for the 2026 tax year the IRS standard rate is 72.5 cents per business mile from January 1 to June 30, 2026, and 76 cents per mile from July 1 to December 31, 2026, so a dated log keeps each trip at the right rate.

When should I move to QuickBooks Online?

When the sheet becomes harder to trust than to keep: more payment apps, several accounts, helpers to pay or a lender asking for statements. The sheet keeps your records organized, so the move is straightforward.

Do I own the sheet?

Yes. The sheet is built for your business and handed over to you, so you can keep using it on your own.
